Evening Shadows The afternoon sun is sinking in the west Evening shadows are beginning to appear Nocturnal life are emerging from their homes Hopefully soon I'll see a magnificent deer. From my unseen perch high up in a tree I marvel at the coexistence my eyes can see Even a dangerous tiger sits peacefully alone I cannot believe what's happening below me. A thought comes forth from deep in my mind Why can't mankind coexist in this same way No more hate, greed or wars in our world If this could happen it would make my day. Evening shadows have given me peace of mind I believe if animals can live peacefully we can too If you will spend an evening alone in the woods Maybe this thought will be embedded in you. Ralph L.
