Back Then
I can't help mother hanging clothes On the old clothesline anymore She lives in heaven now, but in My mind she's alive just like before.
I remember mother giving me a nickel After the clothes were hung on the line Back then a nickel bought twice as much As you can buy today for a dime.
Things a nickel bought you won't believe I could buy a grape drink and even more Twenty candy kisses cost only two cents Grape drinks just three cents at any store.
Passing time brings changes we all know But memories of childhood are speical to us I hope my children will have fond memories Of their youthful days, like mine, I trust.
